Neighbours in shock after man stabbed in Barrington Road, Hornsey
Neighbours spoke of their shock at finding a man sat in a “pool of blood” after he was stabbed in Hornsey.
Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Barrington Road at 3.16pm yesterday.
On arrival they found a man with stab wounds to the chest.
A woman who lives on Barrington Road said she saw the man sitting down in a pool of his own blood after he was attacked.
She described him as a “young man” and said he could have been either white or Asian but was not sure “because he was so pale” from losing blood.
The woman, who did not wish to be named, said: “I think he was stabbed in Priory Park then walked to Barrington Road.
“He was sat down at the end of the road by my neighbour’s house and was very pale because of all the blood he’d lost.
“Surprisingly at one point he stood up just as they were about to get him on the stretcher – one of the police officers told me it’s because of the adrenaline kicking in."
Police closed Palace Road and part of Barrington Road for several hours after the attack to collect forensic evidence.
The London Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance attended the scene and the victim was airlifted to hospital.
Erica Knesdon, who lives on Palace Road, said: “All I really saw was the aftermath but it was really traumatic for my son who saw all the blood.
“There were police cars everywhere and it was really upsetting for him.”
A neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: “This is a family residential area and I’ve lived here for 12 years but this is the first time I’ve heard of this sort of thing happening around here.
“The whole thing is bizarre and I’m really shocked by all this.”
The victim’s condition is still unknown and no arrests have been made but Haringey police are investigating the situation.
