San Francisco 49ers train with Enfield students at Tottenham Hotspur's training ground
American Football team San Francisco 49ers touched down at Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground yesterday to put local school students through their paces.
The side have flown in from across the Atlantic to face Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, October 27.
But before getting down to business, the 49ers first put students from Nightingale Academy in Turin Road, Edmonton, to the test at Spurs’ training ground in Hotspur Way, Enfield.
The students were taught how to throw an American Football by star quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Spurs first team squad players Brad Friedel, Mousa Dembele, Lewis Holtby, Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Harry Kane also trained with the NFL team.
Grant Cornwell MBE, Chief Executive, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, told the Spurs Website: "It was fantastic to welcome the 49ers to the Training Centre and the event was a huge success, underlining the commitment of both teams to their work in the community.
"We've developed a unique partnership with Nightingale Academy for the provision of sport and education services that will support the Academy's vision to maximise the the life chances of students."
