Three guitars and a violin were stolen when burglars targeted the same block of flats twice in one week.

The latest break in, which took place in Wightman Road, Harringay, saw burglars smash through a double-locked door after forcing their way into the building, on Tuesday.

After the second burglary the offender or offenders left the property, located between the junctions with Warham Road and Seymour Road carrying three black guitar cases and a dark purple wheeled suitcase.

Items stolen include an iMac desktop computer, a purple electric Fender Telecaster guitar, a black and yellow sunburst Fender Precision bass guitar and a violin, late 19th century German strad copy in a blue case with dark green felt interior.

Homeowner Jon Massey said: "If anyone saw these people on Wightman Road or the ladder on Tuesday, we'd be very grateful if they told the police.

"The items taken, especially the instruments, were of huge sentimental value and we'd very much like to recover them.

"We've increased security at our property with new locks, a range of other security measures and CCTV and would urge anyone else in the area to do the same.

"It's a horrible feeling to have your home and possessions violated in this way and we hope other poeple in the area will take similar steps."

The previous week, on Wednesday, November 27, thieves broke into another flat in the building and stole laptops.

They also ripped through a bannister to steal a black adult's bike from the communal hallway.
