Jobless young people in Haringey proved they could rise to the occasion when Tottenham Hotspur’s goalkeeper judged a bake-off.

Hugo Lloris took time out of his training yesterday to sample the cooking of 12 unemployed teenagers taking part in The Prince’s Trust’s 'Get Started with Cooking' programme.

The contest, at Haringey Sixth Form Centre in White Hart Lane, was arranged in partnership with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

On the course unemployed teenagers worked towards a level 2 certificate in food hygiene, learning techniques for preparing a variety of meals and studied budgeting and nutrition, as well as building their confidence, teamwork, communication and leadership skills.
