A brass band will perform at a charity event held in memory of a Highgate schoolgirl who lost her life to cancer.

The London Metropolitan Brass Band (LMBB) will take centre stage at the Alexandra Wylie Make Christmas Count concert on December 20.

The Alexandra Wylie Tower Foundation, a charity which helps feed children in poverty, was created and named after the 17-year-old.

Her mother Lindsey Wylie said: "We are so excited about the concert.

“Alexandra loved everything about Christmas and this seems a wonderful way to use the festive spirit to help children in our community who are not as privileged as Alexandra was.

“Her father and I are so touched by the support and enthusiasm of the LMBB and I think it will be a really lovely family evening."

Tickets will cost £5 and are available from www.awtf.org or by calling 07515 357019.
