Lanterns created by children at a primary school in Muswell Hill have gone on public display at an art gallery.

Pupils from Eden Primary School made lanterns from willow and tissue paper as part of the theme of 'Festivals of Lights'.

The lanterns created by artists between the ages of five and seven are among 60 on display at the Free Space Gallery in Kentish Town.

Artist in residence at the school Laura Fox said: “By having an exhibition in a gallery meant that the children would really value their work.

“And it's important as I'm not teaching the children art but empowering them to be artists.”

The exhibition will run until December 19.
