A teenager who hopes to become an actress has won a year of free performing arts training at a drama school.

Rachel Price was announced as the winner of the annual Charlotte Coleman Scholarship after her performance as Roxy from the stage musical Chicago.

As part of her prize the 13-year-old girl won a year’s tuition at the New London Performing Arts Centre, in St James Lane, Muswell Hill.

Rachel was selected as the winner after the finals which took place on Sunday, November 24, and is on course to follow in the footsteps of Charlotte Coleman who died in 2001.

Ms Coleman was famous for her roles in Worzel Gummidge and as Scarlett in Four Weddings and a Funeral.

On Wednesday, the judges presented Rachel and the runners up – seven-year-old Rosie Solomon, Isabella Hohmann, 10, and Dora Curtis, 10, with their awards.
