A hospital has invited the public to join its Christmas celebrations at an annual carol service.

There will be a professional choir, jazz band and candlelit carols when North Middlesex University Hospital hosts the event at All Saints Church, Edmonton, at 6pm on Wednesday, December 18.

More than 40 children and teachers from Wilbury Primary School in Edmonton sang in the hospital’s atrium as patients, visitors and staff prepare for next week’s service.

Hospital chairman John Carrier welcomed the support from the school, which takes place every year.

He said: “It is fantastic to have our local primary school come and sing for everyone at their local hospital.

“It’s lovely to hear these festive songs sung by the young people. It gives everyone a lift.”

Local MPs are expected to attend as part of a celebration which will mark the recent expansion of the hospital’s services under the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey clinical strategy.

Mayors from the three boroughs are also expected to be present.
