A dead body was found at the scene of a fire in Hornsey - just minutes before the end of a firefighters strike.
The blaze ripped through a ground floor flat in Oakfield Road, on Saturday night.
Contingency crews organised by the London Fire Brigade were forced to tackle the fire because members of the Fire Brigade Union were on strike.
Union members took part in a walkout between 6pm to 10pm in a dispute over pensions with the Government.
Two fire engines and 14 firefighters were called to the scene at 9.52pm and the blaze was under control by 11.14pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
