Mark Duggan inquest verdict to be given in January 2014
The jury in the inquest into Mark Duggan's death have been sent home until the New Year when deliberations will continue.
As jurors failed to reach a verdict today coroner Keith Cutler agreed for them to reconvene after the holiday season on Tuesday, January 7.
Mr Duggan was shot dead by an armed police officer in Ferry Lane, Tottenham on August 4, 2011, after the minicab he was travelling in was stopped as part of an police operation to tackle gun crime.
The jury has been considering whether or not the 29-year-old was killed lawfully or unlawfully for the last five days but has failed to agree.
Yesterday the judge announced he would accept a majority verdict, in an attempt to break the deadlock.
The inquest into the death of Mr Duggan has now been running for more than three months.
His death sparked riots across Tottenham which later spread across the country.
