Three people were killed after a car collided with a lorry and caught fire on the North Circular Road early this morning.

Police, the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade were called to the North Circular A406 Bowes Road close to the junction with Natal Road in Palmers Green, Enfield at 12.26am.

Three people travelling in a Subaru Impreza were killed after the car apparently hit a lorry.

Police say reports suggest the Subaru, which was in the westbound carriageway, hit the central reservation before colliding with a lorry travelling eastbound. It then caught fire.

London Fire Brigade put out the fire.

A Vauxhall Astra was also involved in the crash. Two men have been taken to hospital suffering minor injuries.

The driver of the lorry also suffered minor injuries.

Police investigating the crash closed both lanes and said the road would remain closed during this morning’s rush hour. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
