Those venturing out for New Year’s Eve will be able to travel for free in the early hours of New Year's Day on all London transport services.
Between 11.45pm on December 31, and 4.30am on January 1, 2014, people will be able to travel free of charge on London Underground, buses, DLR, Tramlink and on London Overground services until the last trains.
London’s Transport commissioner Sir Peter Hendy has urged people who are travelling in and around London to plan their journeys for the New Year’s celebrations.
He said: “I want to encourage passengers travelling on New Year’s Eve to make sure they plan ahead for their journey home. They can either make use of the free travel being provided on our services sponsored by Diageo, or if taking a taxi they should make sure it is a black cab or a pre-booked minicab.”
