The founder of a charity that helps disadvantaged women is among health professionals, television executives and university professors from Haringey recognised in the 2014 New Year's Honours list.
Rafaat Mughal, of Wood Green, who founded the Jan Trust, was awarded an OBE for services to disadvantaged women and the community in Haringey.
Hornsey man Peter Lothar Owen founder of Peter Owen Publishers, also received an honour for services to literature.
Susan Elizabeth Sharpe, of Highgate, was honoured for her work as the chief executive of the pharmaceutical services negotiating committee.
Muswell Hill resident Professor Elizabeth Mary Rouse, the former head of London College of Communication and deputy rector of the University of the Arts, also received an OBE for services to Higher Education.
Her neighbour Professor Dilys Morgan was made an MBE for services to health protection as the head of the department for gastrointestinal, emerging and zoonotic infections at Public Health England.
Kathleen Mary Kinninmont, the chief executive of Women in Film and Television Ltd, also received an MBE for services to the industry.
The former consultant general paediatrician at the Whittington Hospital, Dr Heather Susan MacKinnon, was also awarded a MBE for services to paediatrics, child health and protection.
