A 20-year-old drug dealer has been jailed for three and a half years for using a fake gun to rob a 13-year-old boy.

Odane Eastwood, of Alexandra Road, Muswell Hill, appeared in custody at Wood Green Crown Court this morning.

He pleaded guilty to one charge of robbing a teenager of his mobile phone on January 18, and another of using an imitation firearm to rob, namely a plastic gun.

Eastwood also pleaded guilty to breaching an anti-social behaviour order which banned him from carrying any mobile phone not registered on the UK property register website, Immobilise.

The 13-year-old victim was walking along Grosvenor Road, Muswell Hill, on January 18, while on his way to meet a friend.

Eastwood, who was walking ahead of the victim, turned around and blocked the teenager’s path before asking for the time.

The boy thought this was odd as the 20-year-old was wearing a watch but pulled out his phone to check the time.

Eastwood then told the the victim to hand over the mobile phone and told him not to run because he a gun, which showed to the 13-year-old.

He then told the teenager to not tell his parents or call the police before running away.

The victim waited until the drug dealer was out of sight before going round the corner and contacting the police.

Eastwood was arrested in a car park a short time later and was found to be carrying a BB handgun.

He told police that the reason he had carried out the robbery was because he had become addicted to cannabis and had fallen into debt.

On September 27, 2013, the 20-year-old was handed an ASBO at Highbury Magistrates Court after he was found guilty of dealing cannabis.

For this offence he had been given 12 months imprisonment suspended for two years, 200 hours' unpaid work and a 12-month supervision order.

Today Judge Fraser Morrison said: “There are nasty elements to this robbery. You obviously planned this by getting the imitation gun and by targeting someone so young.”

Before passing a sentence the judge added: “I bear in mind that you had the courage to plead guilty at an early stage.

“But you don’t have the benefit of good character given your previous convictions.”

Eastwood was sentenced to three years in prison for robbery, three years for carrying the imitation gun and six months for breaching his ASBO, to run concurrently.

He was also ordered to serve a minimum of six months of his earlier suspended sentence, which will run consecutively.
