A mother-of-two who was stabbed to death in a busy Tottenham street has been named.
Naudel Turner was murdered by a man she may have known as she walked along Bruce Grove shortly before 1pm yesterday afternoon.
The 42-year-old was rushed to a central London hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been taken to a north London police station, where he remains in custody.
Ms Turner, who lived in Fulham and had two sons aged 19 and 20, worked as a health care worker at Castleview Surgery in Lordship Lane.
A post-mortem examination will be held at Haringey Mortuary today and an inquest will be opened.
Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, of the Homicide and Major Crime Command, based at Putney, is leading the murder investigation.
He said: "Ms Turner was a hard-working mother of two boys.
“At this early stage we believe she may have known her attacker and we are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward and help with the investigation."
DCI McHugh also made an appeal to members of the public who may have taken pictures or filmed video at the scene to contact the investigation team as soon as possible.
He repeated a plea for one key witness to come forward.
He added: "In particular we would like to speak to a black male who was wearing a white tracksuit top who witnesses saw taking images at the scene.
"He is not a suspect but we urge him to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
"I would appeal to him or anyone else to contact us with the footage or images they took as a matter of urgency and not to upload them on the internet or share them with friends as it may harm our investigation."
Anyone with footage, images or information should call the incident room on 020 8785 8099. To remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
