A pensioner was kicked and punched in the head during an unprovoked attacked as he waited at a bus stop in Tottenham.

The 67-year-old man was standing at a bus stop outside Seven Sisters Station in High Road at 3.30am on Saturday, March 22, when he was assaulted.

He was making his way home from a family gathering and was knocked to the ground by a man who kicked and punched him in the head several times.

The pensioner was rushed to a north London hospital with facial and head injuries and has since been discharged.

A man was arrested and charged with the assault.

The incident was captured on CCTV and police are urging two women standing at the bus stop to come forward.

Officers were alerted by CCTV operators who saw the attack happen on camera.

The bus stop location was outside Seven Sisters Underground Station for routes N73, 149, 243, N279, N76.

The two female witnesses were both white and believed to be in their early teens or 20s.

CCTV shows the women witnessing the attack but had left the scene by the time officers arrived.
