Alexandra Palace has been given a special mention as this month’s choice film location by Film London, an online magazine.
Blink productions recently used the grounds to shoot a blockbuster advert celebrating 150 years of John Lewis.
The advert, which spanned eras as well as locations, takes five scenes of its 24 from the palace surrounds.
The green slopes around the palace were transformed into a sledging run in the 1930s, while the Victorian houses provided a Second World War backdrop. A tree house was built to portray an idyllic childhood.
Eddy Pearce, location manager for the advert’s filming, said: "The opportunity that Ally Pally gave us to shoot five very different locations all with quite complex camera moves in essentially one contained area helped the location and schedule juggling act enormously."
