A paralympic gold medallist is backing future sports engineering students at Tottenham’s University Technical College to help athletes like himself train at an elite level.

The London 2012 medallist and Spurs fan Richard Whitehead visited Tottenham’s training ground to talk about how sports engineers help his own performance behind the scenes.

Tottenham’s UTC, due to open in September, specialises in technology and science for sport, health and engineering, and is currently accepting current Year 9 and 11 students.

Double amputee Whitehead spoke to Spurs TV about the importance of sports engineers working with top athletes (see below).
