Two men involved in Tottenham shootout to appear at Old Bailey for attempted murder

Two men arrested following a shootout in South Tottenham on Friday night are due to appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow.

Sedat Meric, 24, of Deansway, and Oktay Ayanoglu, 22, of White Hart Lane, will both appear at the Old Bailey on charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Both men have been remanded in custody after appearing at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court yesterday.

They were arrested by officers from the National Crime Agency following a shootout in West Green Road at 10.50pm on Friday.

A third man, Lescott Daniel, 44, of no fixed abode, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on June 16.

Officers from the National Crime Agency continue to be involved in the investigation, which is being led by detectives from Trident, the Met Police's gang crime unit.

Any witnesses are urged to contact police or Crimestoppers.
