Cyclist taken to major trauma centre at Royal London Hospital after bike accident in Tottenham High Road

First published in News by

A cyclist suffered serious head injuries when he fell off his bike in Tottenham High Road.

The man, in his forties, was taken to the major trauma centre at the Royal London Hospital after the accident at 4.20pm on Friday.

The High Road was closed in both directions between Tottenham Police Station and the Tottenham Chances Arts Centre while emergency services dealt with the incident, causing severe disruption to traffic and bus routes in the area.

A number of on-lookers speculated on Twitter that the rider had been hit by a car, but London Ambulance Service (LAS) said he appeared to have fainted whilst riding the bike.

LAS was unable to provide a condition update on the patient this afternoon.
