Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was sexually assaulted in a forest.

The man, aged 38, was running in Coldfall Woods, Muswell Hill at around 8.30pm on Friday evening when he came across a man who appeared to be stretching at the side of the path.

The two men then found themselves briefly running towards each other on the same path.

When the victim stood aside to let the other man to pass, he was sexually assaulted.

The suspect is described as a slim, black male in his early 20s and around 6ft tall.

Police say he had short black hair which was longer on top, and "bulging" eyes.

At the time of the assault he was wearing a navy blue sleeveless top and matching navy blue shorts, possibly Nike make.
