Transport police are treating the death of a man who was hit by a train at Northumberland Park station, in Park Avenue Road, Tottenham, as not suspicious.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Our officers were called to Northumberland Park station around 4.45pm on Friday, August 8, after reports a person had been hit by a train. Colleagues from the Metropolitan Police Service and London Ambulance Service also attended.

”A man was pronounced dead at the scene. Once we have formally identified the man, we will inform his family.

“The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and we will now assist in the compilation of a report for the coroner.”
