A pub's owners say they hope to restore it to its former glory with a £400,000 revamp.

London Village Inns has announced it will work with pub company Punch Taverns to refurbish the Westbury in Wood Green.

Work will start at the pub, close to Turnpike Lane Tube station, on August 25 and take around six weeks.

It is due to open in October, and will create 15 jobs. The owners say the pub will serve a range of food and local ales.

London Village Inns’ managing director Martin Harley said: “We’re proud to bring The Westbury into our portfolio. The pub is in an up and coming area and we have exciting plans to restore it to its former glory.”
