A household store has set its sights on raising money for a cancer charity after making more than £6,000 for a children’s hospital last year.

Wilko in Wood Green has announced Cancer Research UK will be its new regional charity, taking over from Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Jenny Flack, local fundraising manager at Cancer Research UK, said: “We’re thrilled to have the Wilko team on board as a key fundraiser and we’re so happy they chose us as their charity of the year.”
