A suspended trade union secretary will face the council in court next month.
Haringey NUT secretary Julie Davies was suspended by Haringey Council for “gross misconduct” in July.
The teaching union maintains that the suspension is “unlawful” and sought an injunction at the High Court last week.
Ms Davies has been ordered not to speak to teachers or enter council buildings, including schools, while suspended by the council.
On Thursday, a judge ruled that Ms Davies must be allowed to continue to represent union members while suspended.
A further two-day hearing will take place on October 2 and 3 to decide whether the council has the power to suspend union representatives.
