Wood Green library will be given a new ‘green wall’ as work began on a new entrance this week.
Haringey Council plan to upgrade the library’s entrance, giving it a new illuminated sign and a new wall to be covered in plants.
The new-look library exterior is expected to be finished by the end of the year, with the ‘green wall’ to be finished by 2015.
The project is part of a wider project to improve public spaces in the area.
Councillor Stuart McNamara, cabinet member for environment, said: “We know the importance that residents place on making sure our libraries have first-class facilities, and this modern, greener entrance will put the library centre-stage in a revitalised Wood Green.”
