South Tottenham is to get “a new tropical oasis”, according to new plans revealed by the council.

The garden is to be part of the regeneration scheme for West Green Road.

The park will feature a magnolia tree, raised planting surrounded by seating, dedicated areas for food growing projects, and a central space for events.

The project is jointly funded by the council and the Greater London Authority.

Councillor Alan Strickland, cabinet member for regeneration and housing, said: “Local people were clear about their ambitions for a greener West Green Road with more space to relax and unwind, and these early designs show what a difference this small oasis could make.”
