A Tottenham man has been jailed for more eight years for raping a woman in her own home.

Mustafa Osman, 36, of Lebus Street, raped and assaulted a 23-year-old woman over four hours in a house in Chingford.

Osman had arrived uninvited at the property last November, before assaulting her and forcing her to remove her clothes.

Osman also told the woman he would find her and “ruin her life” if she told anyone.

Wanting to get away from her attacker, the woman explained that she had to leave for work. Osman, now asking her to forgive him, left at the same time.

When she arrived at work the woman told work colleagues of the incident and police were called.

Osman was arrested and charged with two counts of rape, which he denied.

A jury at Snaresbrook Crown Court unanimously found him guilty on October 16.

He was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison on Friday.

Detective Constable Richard Wren of the Metropolitan Police's Sexual Exploitation and Child Abuse Command said: "This young woman was subjected to a torturous ordeal that spanned four hours and put her in fear for her life.

"She was then compelled to give evidence in court by Osman entering a not guilty plea.

“I hope that the sentence handed down provides her with a measure of comfort and goes someway to restoring her sense of personal safety."
