A charity is calling for volunteers to help with its Mitzvah Day events.

This year the Times & Independent Series is working with organisers of the day of volunteering to encourage readers to take part in meaningful and enjoyable challenges.

The Jewish charity Norwood, based in Stanmore, Harrow, which supports children with special education needs, is holding a range of events on November 16, and is in need of more volunteers to help.

Events include collections to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice and Barnet Homeless at Waitrose supermarket in Brent Cross.

There will also a tea party at the Kennedy Leigh Family Centre in Hendon, as well as arts and crafts workshops at the charity’s residential homes across north London.

Norwood organiser Gloria Stoll said: “Mitzvah Day is great and it is a chance to for people from all faiths to come together and give something back to the community.”

Those interested in volunteering at any of the above events for Norwood can sign up by emailing gloria.stoll@norwood.org.uk
