British Transport Police are hunting a man who sexually assaulted a woman in the toilets at Finsbury Park station.
The attack, which police described as “extremely disturbing”, took place after the man followed a woman in her thirties into the toilet at around 11am on October 9.
Detective Constable Gerard Hughes, of BTP, said the man began making “lewd suggestions”, before subjecting her to a frightening ordeal.
He said: “The woman tried to leave the toilet, but the man blocked her way.
“Thankfully, a member of station staff, who saw the man follow the woman, banged on the door, after which the man fled the station.”
Detectives now want to speak to a man spotted on CCTV camera in connection with the assault.
DC Hughes said: “This was an extremely disturbing incident, which, unsurprisingly, caused considerable distress to the victim.
“BTP is constantly working to ensure the rail network remains a safe place, free of all forms of unwanted sexual behaviour and violence”.
