A growing sport has gripped teenagers in Tottenham.

Gravity-defying moves were on display as people took part in a parkour session at Lorship Rec this week.

Parkour is a new sport that involves elements of gymnastics and dance.

The event, hosted by Parkour Generations, was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and organised by Haringey Council.

Members of the Lordship Rec Users Forum plan to raise funds for similar events in the future.

Haringey Council's cabinet member for environment Cllr Stuart McNamara said the session proved “popular”.

He added: “Haringey has a host of award winning parks which are a pleasure to spend time in and it is fantastic to see them used in unique ways, ensuring they remain popular with residents of all ages.”
