Councillor Claire Kober denied wrong-doing at full council this evening when under attack from Haringey NUT.
The teaching union accused her of personally calling for the suspension of Haringey NUT secretary Julie Davies.
Niall O’Conner, deputy secretary of Haringey NUT, said Cllr Kober had refused to speak with the union over the dispute while sending emails calling for Ms Davies’ suspension.
The teaching union says it is still in dispute with Haringey Council over Ms Davies’ suspension.
Calling for Councillor Kober to meet with the union, Mr O’Connor said: “This dispute is political and it needs a political solution”.
Cllr Kober said she had merely sent two emails when she had seen behaviour that breached the rules for council staff.
