Police have made a fresh appeal for witnesses, a year after a woman fell to her death.

Dora Matthews, 43, was found unconscious outside Elizabeth Blackwell House in Wood Green on December 19, 2013.

Officers will be returning to the scene today to hand out leaflets and speak to people from the area.

London Ambulance Service attended but Ms Matthews was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as multiple injuries, consistent with a fall from height.

Detectives know Dora had gone to a flat in the block, which was not her home address, at around 11.45pm on Wednesday, 18 December 2013.

Dora fell from a top floor flat, on the 14th floor of Elizabeth Blackwell House.

Later that day a 43-year-old man attended Tottenham police station. He was arrested in connection with the investigation and later bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, who is leading the investigation for the homicide and major crime command, said: "Dora Matthews' death is a tragic loss of life, and my condolences are with her family.

"Her death has left a daughter and other family members without specific answers as to how it happened and we continue to try to find, and prove, those answers.

"What we really want is to hear from anyone who was in or around the Elizabeth Blackwell House area prior to 5am when Dora was found.

"We are also interested in talking to anyone who knew Dora, were part of her life, and knew the circles she moved in and what was happening in her life the weeks before her death.”

Dora's daughter, Bianca, said she was still “very distressed” about her mother’s death. She said: “I don't have any closure. I would urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. I just really want to know what happened to my mother."
