A physiotherapist from Crouch End has been chosen to provide treatment for athletes at the first ever European Games.
Tom Astley, of Hawthorn Road, Crouch End, worked as part of a team treating athletes at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow last year and was then put forward to apply for Baku 2015.
After impressing the selectors he will now be heading off to take on a similar role in the inaugural European Games, held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
Mr Astley, 30, said: “Going to Glasgow was a really good experience, it was very busy but I enjoyed being part of a team providing care to top level athletes.”
The physiotherapist, who runs his own business in Crouch End, is due to fly out to Baku at the beginning of June.
He added: “I’m very excited, it’s a fantastic opportunity to work with high level athletes who are really pushing themselves.”
