Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision involving a cyclist.

Police and emergency services were called to Amhurst Park near the junction with Seven Sisters Road at yesterday at 8am following reports of a road traffic collision.

Met police officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found a female cyclist suffering from critical injuries following a collision with a lorry.

The 29-year-old cyclist died at the scene and next of kin have been informed but formal identification is yet to take place.

The lorry driver stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but was later released on bail pending further inquiries.

A post-mortem examination will be held at Hackney Mortuary on Wednesday January 21.
