With 100 days to go until the General Election, the Tottenham & Wood Green Independent has put together a roundup of politicians vying for your vote on May 7.

Haringey is made up of two constituencies, the Labour safe seat of Tottenham and the battleground of Hornsey and Wood Green.

Tottenham has been in Labour control since 1964 but neighbouring Hornsey and Wood Green has been consecutively represented by the Conservatives, Labour and the Liberal Democrats.

Tottenham

Labour MP for Tottenham David Lammy has aspirations to become Mayor of London but will be concentrating on re-election in his constituency over the next few months as he goes up against Lib Dem Turhan Ozen, Tory Stefan Mrozinski, Green Party candidate Dee Searle and Tariq Saeed of UKIP.

The challengers to Mr Lammy’s seat have a tough job on their hands as the Labour man posted almost 60 per cent of the vote at the last general election, winning with a huge margin of more than 16,000 votes.

But they may be helped by the perception that Mr Lammy’s head has been turned by the prospect of becoming Mayor of London in 2016.

Hornsey & Wood Green

Next door to Tottenham, the constituency of Hornsey & Wood Green is set to be a much closer fight with incumbent MP Liberal Democrat Lynne Featherstone expected to face stiff opposition from Labour candidate Catherine West.

Labour and the other challengers will be hoping to capitalise on Lib Dem supporters' disenchantment with the party's role in the coalition and public disillusion with living standards and slow economic progress.

Conservative Suhail Rahuja, the Green Party’s Gordon Peters, and Clive Morrison of UKIP will also be standing against Ms Featherstone in the constituency.
