Conservationists young and old were among a proud group who got to show off Haringey’s historic woodland.

Pupils from Coldfall Primary School in Coldfall Avenue, Muswell Hill and volunteers from the Coldfall Woods Nature Reserve were paid a visit by Baroness Kramer and representatives from the Forestry Commission.

The visit gave the visitors a chance to see the work that is done to help preserve the wood.

Haringey Borough Council’s cabinet member for environment Councillor Stuart McNamara said: “We were delighted to be able to showcase the fantastic work that has gone into this beautiful ancient woodland that we are so proud to have in our borough.

"Haringey is at the forefront of forestry work in London with four ancient woods, all of which are shining examples of how much can be achieved when the council works in partnership with friends groups and volunteers, empowering them to play a major part in ensuring their local woodlands are always at their best.”
