Badminton players from Alexandra Park School have qualified for the London Youth Games.
They will join schoolchildren from across the capital representing their boroughs at the Balfour Beatty London Youth Games 2015.
The qualifier was held at Sobell Leisure Centre in Hornsey Road, Islington on last Wednesday.
Alexandra Park School were joined by Acland Burghley from Camden as well as Stepney Green and Sir John Cass from Tower Hamlets.
Alexandra Park team manager Judith Pedersen said: “I had four teams in the finals and I’m glad one team got through, probably the team I least expected to.
“They’ve been practising quite a lot and they’ll practise some more now as I know the standard will be much, much higher than here so they’ll do their best.
“They’re not naturally gifted but it shows what you can do if you keep persevering.”
Badminton is one of 31 sports to make up the The London Youth Games which is Europe’s largest annual youth sports event.
