Engineering event for young girls
Soldering irons will be at the ready on Thursday as a college holds an engineering event for young girls.
Tottenham University Technical College is hosting an event called Introduce A Girl To Engineering Day to help get more young woman interested in the field at an early age.
Tottenham UTC students and experts from Middlesex University will be leading a day of workshops for 60 girls from primary schools in Haringey.
The girls will be given the chance to take part in three different activities using state-of-the-art equipment including building a LEGO robot and pneumatic circuits during the student-led workshops.
The school hopes that the drive will help address the skills gap developing in engineering in Britain.
