Tall tales were told at a school when an amateur dramatics group put on a Pinocchio pantomime.

The Crouch End Players' production of the Carlo Collodi classic about a wooden puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy was accompanied by a live band at Greig City Academy on High Road, Hornsey.

Performances ran from Wednesday to Saturday, including a matinee performance on the Saturday.

Jemima Headey, a lead member of the players, said: “This year we returned to the genre of pantomime once again, our first in three years, and it seemed to be a good choice with a positive and affectionate response from the audiences especially the kids at the matinee.

“We chose Pinocchio as we wanted to put on a really traditional fairy story, but also one that isn't widely performed and the story of Pinocchio is truly charming.”
