Dancers took to the stage for the finale of a three-year project.

Pupils aged 11 to 15 from Gladesmore Community School, in Crowland Road, Tottenham, took centre stage as they performed at the Lilian Baylis Studio in Sadler's Wells for the finale of DanceQuest.

Gladesmore was one of four North London schools participating in the three-year national DanceQuest project, which was designed by Children & the Arts and supported by the MariaMarina Foundation and J Paul Getty Junior Charitable Trust.

During each year of the DanceQuest project, pupils see live dance productions at Sadler's Wells and work with professional dance practitioners, before performing on stage at the theatre in a special finale in front of family, teachers and friends.

Pupils from Gladesmore have spent their third year of DanceQuest working at Sadler's Wells with professional artists from Wayne McGregor I Random Dance.

Jeremy Newton, chief executive of Children & the Arts, said: "This is removing preconceptions about dance and making dance accessible to everyone, making children feel welcome in high quality arts venues and giving them the chance to try something they may have never had the opportunity to do before."
