Government figures show that there are no inadequate schools in Haringey.

Data released by the Department for Education shows that none of the 82 schools in the borough inspected by Ofsted are failing.

Nine schools in Haringey were judged to require improvement but the majority of schools were rated ‘good’ or 'outstanding' in inspections carried out up to December 31 last year.

Haringey has a higher than average number of schools rated as good or outstanding, with 89 per cent falling into those categories, compared to just 81 per cent across the capital.

Ann Waters, cabinet member for children and families at Haringey Borough Council, said:“These Ofsted figures are yet further evidence that we are making good on our promise to deliver outstanding education for all Haringey children.

"Over the past 12 months we’ve seen the performance of Haringey schools praised by the Department for Education; the borough ranked top by Ofsted’s for the numbers of pupils attending good or outstanding secondary schools; and another year of impressive exam results.

"We look forward to continuing this progress and to meeting our ambitions of giving every child in Haringey the very best possible start in life.”
