A charity working with young people living with a range of disabilities is due to expand its operations by making use of abandoned industrial space.

Action For Kids has been based at its current site in Tottenham Lane, Hornsey for 25 years helping young disabled people become more independent and involved in the community and it is now expanding its services.

The charity has recently exchanged contracts on the disused site of former construction firm Gilmac next door and is planning to increase the opportunities it is able to offer to young people living with disability.

A spokesman for the charity said: “The vision is big. This run-down industrial space will be brought into use with the view of supporting even more individuals and providing work opportunities, volunteering, life skills and mobility equipment.

"At this exciting time, we are bursting with ideas to bring about more change to the lives of the people we help and want the community involved as the story unfolds.”
