Campaigners will hit the streets tomorrow to underline the importance of protecting the NHS.

The protest is being organised by independent campaign group 38 Degrees and will see Haringey campaigners urging people to ensure they vote to protect the NHS on May 7.

As part of a nationwide day of action, volunteers will be out in Seven Sisters, Crouch End and Muswell Hill tomorrow asking people to sign a petition to save the NHS.

The petition will be handed in at Hornsey Town Hall in Hatherly Gardens, Crouch End, at 3pm with parliamentary candidates for Hornsey & Wood Green in attendance.

Tottenham member of 38 Degrees, Rod, said: “Our NHS has always been there for me and all my family when we’ve needed it.

“However some politicians seem determined to break it up and sell parts off to the highest bidder. The thought of my family being cared for by profit-making companies goes totally against my principles.

“That’s why I’m going to be out in Seven Sisters this Saturday with lots of others to spread the word that the way we vote on May 7 could determine whether our NHS is still there for our children and grandchildren."
