Haringey Borough Council are offering people the opportunity to learn how to make healthier versions of their favourite takeaways.
As part of the Healthy Haringey campaign, free cookery classes are taking place at Tottenham University Technical College this month.
The classes will be led by UTC chef Barry Stowell and participants will learn new ‘fakeaway’ recipes, watch live cooking demonstrations and get chance to put their cookery skills to the test.
Cllr Peter Morton, Haringey council cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “Everyone wants to eat healthily, but not all of us know how to cook tasty, nutritional meals that won't break the bank.
“These classes will give people the practical skills and knowledge to make healthier food at home, helping them to save money and stay healthy.”
More information on the classes can be found here.
