Schoolchildren will tackle tangrams and puzzle over pentominoes at the finals of a London wide maths tournament tomorrow.

Pupils from Lea Valley Primary School in Somerford Grove, Tottenham, will attempt a range of shape puzzles and codebreaking at the Primary Challenge Finals in City Hall.

The competition, funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation and the Mayors Fund for London, is designed to help promote high levels of numeracy in young Londoners and will see 99 schools from across the capital competing.
