A charity has won an award for improving mental and physical health through learning about nature.
Ambitious about Autism (AaA) in Woodside Avenue, Muswell Hill, was announced as the overall winner at the Growing Localities Awards for teaching pupils with complex autism using nature.
The awards, organised by charity City Bridge Trust, celebrate environmental projects which provide long-term benefits to participants from education, training and qualifications, to improved physical and mental health.
Chief executive of AaA Jolanta Lasota said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won at City Bridge Trusts’ Growing Localities Awards.
“Having access to teaching environments within nature has huge benefits to pupils with autism, enabling them to make positive and lasting contributions to their local community.”
