As Tottenham Hotspur were granted permission for amendments to their stadium plans tonight, it was revealed there will be more on the way.

At a special meeting of Haringey council’s planning sub-committee, a new basement level providing underground car parking as well as plant and furniture storage areas were all unanimously approved.

Also passed by the committee were changes to the ground floor layout of the stadium including extended player changing rooms, enhanced media facilities and “other associated stadium uses”.

It was confirmed that Spurs will make further applications for changes to their plans which were originally drawn up in 2007.

Haringey council's head of development management Emma Williamson said that it was “normal” for projects of this size to submit a series of amendments as they progress.

The club are likely to move for the next set of changes on July 23 at the next meeting of the planning committee.

Northumberland Park councillor John Bevan asked if there were any details on what might be proposed by the club in further applications, at which point Haringey council’s lawyer David Merson insisted the committee concentrate on the plans in front of it.

Councillor Bevan also raised the issue of radio reception possibly being blocked out by the new stadium, a consideration not included in original applications, and assurances were made that the issue would be considered as the project moves forward.
