AN outbreak of swine flu has led to the closure of a second Haringey primary school.
St Paul's All Hallows Church of England Infant and Junior School, in Tottenham, closed this week following a "significant" number of cases confirmed by GPs.
The school is due to reopen on Monday, June 29.
Campsbourne School in Hornsey, which closed last week, is due to reopen tomorrow.
The decision to close both schools was made jointly by the director of children’s services and the director of public health, based on national guidance from the Health Protection Agency.
Decisions to close schools are made on a case by case basis.
Pupils with flu-like symptoms are advised to stay at home. Close contacts of people showing symptoms are being offered antiviral drugs as a precaution to limit further spread.
In a statement from Councillor Nilgun Canver, cabinet member for enforcement and safer communities at Haringey Council, parents are urged not to stop normal every day activities unless children showed flu-like symptoms.
Siblings of patients with swine flu should also continue to attend school if they are well and if their school is open, she added.
