IT was double victory for Haringey's young basketball players with both the boys and girls teams winning their tournaments at the London youth games.
Teams from boroughs across London went head-to-head in Crystal Palace as part of a two-day sports bonanza, dubbed the "mini-Olympics", which featured a range of sports including football, athletics and archery.
But it was in basketball that Haringey's sporting talent had the chance to shine and help Haringey come 18th overall with a total of 937 points, although they were unable to beat last year's success of 11th place.
Haringey's athletes also did well to come fourth in the weightlifting and fifth in girls football, badminton, tennis and girls cricket.
Other top ten places included seventh in angling, boys' cricket and diving.
Overall, the boys disability team came eighth.
